Who We Are

Citivision Church of Christ was born when Downtown Church of Christ and City Church of Christ merged in 1996. Since then, we have moved a few times and are now at Bras Basah Complex, Blk 231 Bain Street, #02-23, Singapore 180231!

Our Beliefs

In Citivision, we believe in…

JESUS CHRIST

The Son of God, our one and only Lord and Saviour, crucified for our sins and physically resurrected from the dead on the third day.

LOVE

We are a family of God’s people who accept each other because God has accepted each of us. Fellowship is a gift from God. We encourage everyone at Citivision to participate in small groups where a deeper level of Christian relationship can be nurtured.

BIBLE

The Bible is the infallible Word of God. It is inspired and is the final authority in life and doctrine. The Bible reveals one true God existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each possessing the attributes of deity. Since God gives us the Bible that we may know His will, we place great emphasis on a diligent study of the Word.

GRACE

Salvation is the free gift of God. It is because of grace that God sends His Son Jesus Christ to this world to reconcile lost man to Him. The only sufficient payment for our sins is the death of Christ as our substitute. No one is saved by his own merits or good deeds.

RESPONSE

It is necessary to respond to God’s free offer of salvation by faith, repentance, and baptism. As we confess Christ as our Lord and are baptised by immersion, we put on Christ (Gal 3:27), and God forgives our sins and gives us the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38) that empowers each of us. Having died, buried and raised with Christ through baptism, God gives us a new life (Rom 6:3-4).

WORSHIP

Both private and corporate worship are important. We desire that our assemblies and our very lives offer praise to Him who has redeemed us. When Christians absent themselves from assemblies, they are depriving themselves of a powerful means of spiritual nourishment and Christian fellowship. More so, they miss the joy of praising God as a community of God’s people.

UNITY

While avoiding entanglement in the creeds and traditions, we make a diligent effort to follow Christ. The original followers of Christ (the first century church) provide an inspiring model of lifestyle, worship, doctrine, and organization that, in principle, is to be followed in our century.

MINISTRY

God gives us gifts and abilities that we are to use in service to one another and the world. Since the Bible teaches the priesthood of all believers (1 Pet 2:9), and that every Christian is a minister of Christ (Rom 12:3-8; 1 Cor 12:4-26), we each have a role to play in the building up of the Body of Christ. We do not work and serve to be saved, rather to express our gratitude for God’s gift of eternal life.

EVANGELISM

We are committed to sharing with non-Christians what God has done for us through Jesus Christ. Jesus Himself has given us the mandate to go out to the world to make disciples through baptising believers and teaching them to obey His Word (Matt 28:19-20). At Citivision, we emphasize the importance of reaching out first to those closest to us: our family members, friends and colleagues, etc.
